SOLESOLEVAKI

One contribution abroad. One trust at home. What the Corps of Royal Engineers builds in the field, we build back in Fiji — together, or duavata.

01 — Who we are

Sappers overseas.
Shareholders at home.

Duavata Sappers Trust began the way most good ideas do in a barracks: a few Fijian Royal Engineers, serving across the UK and abroad, decided their wages should not simply go home in envelopes — they should go home as capital.

Every member contributes on a fixed schedule. The Trust pools it, invests it and reports back — the same discipline a Sapper applies to a bridge or a build site, applied instead to a balance sheet.

It isn't a remittance scheme. It is a vanua-based investment vehicle — built on trust between people who trained, served and now invest together.

Solesolevaki

The Fijian practice of communal labour and resource-pooling for a shared outcome — traditionally a village working one member's field in turn. Here, it is capital instead of cane.

02 — The mechanism

Six moves.
One cycle.

The discipline of service becomes the discipline of ownership.

SOLE SOLEVAKI THE CYCLE
01

Service abroad

Members serve as Sappers in the Corps of Royal Engineers, earning a service wage in the UK or on deployment.

02

Fixed contribution

Each member commits a fixed, agreed amount on a set schedule. The discipline of the schedule makes the pool predictable.

03

The Trust pools funds

Contributions are gathered under shared governance, committee oversight and AGM visibility.

04

Invest

Pooled capital goes to work through property, leasehold positions and unit trust holdings.

05

Community return

Returns flow back to members and, where agreed, into shared community assets.

06

Reinvest

Returns are weighed against reinvestment to grow the next phase of the shared future.

03 — Where the capital goes

Built on the ground, not just on paper.

Three layers of capital: a flagship development, liquid holdings and long-term leasehold positions.

Liquid holdings

Unit Trust Portfolio

Member capital placed into diversified unit trusts, chosen for steady yield rather than speculation — the Trust's rainy-day layer.

Leasehold Acquisitions

Land and leasehold positions across Lautoka and Suva, held for a ten-year growth horizon and future development.

02 — The muster roll

The people behind the Trust.

Twenty-one members, mostly serving in the British Armed Forces, with a consultant keeping the paperwork honest.

06 — Join the movement

This is a trust you hold, not one that holds you.

Serving Sappers and eligible family members can apply to join at the next AGM. Bring your discipline. Leave with equity.
